 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Bandits Kidnap Serving Councillor In Southern Kaduna


A serving councillor in Southern Kaduna, Hon. David Ali Gwantu, has been abducted by bandits.


Gwantu, who represents Gwantu Ward in Sanga Local Government Area, was taken from his residence in Gwantu town in the early hours of Friday. 


Reports indicate the attackers stormed his home shortly after midnight and whisked him away in the presence of his family.


This abduction comes amid renewed violence in Southern Kaduna. Just last week, seven victims, mostly minors, were buried in Unguwan Rimi village, Kauru LGA, after a deadly terrorist attack that claimed their lives.
