 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Court to deliver judgment in Malema firearm case today


The East London Magistrate’s Court is expected to deliver judgment today in the case against EFF leader Julius Malema and his former bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman.


The two face charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, discharging a firearm in a built-up area, and reckless endangerment. The charges stem from the EFF’s fifth-anniversary celebrations at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane on 28 July 2018.


Both Malema and Snyman have pleaded not guilty, claiming that the object discharged was a toy gun and not capable of firing live rounds. The state, however, maintains it was a real firearm, relying on evidence from 19 witnesses, including ballistics experts.


The case, which began in 2019, has experienced several delays, including one last year when the presiding magistrate fell ill.
