 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FATAL ELECTROCUTION: BORNO POLICE EVACUATES BODY OF SUSPECTED TRANSFORMER VANDAL, COMMENCE INVESTIGATION AT BORNO STATE UNIVERSITY


The Borno State Police Command wishes to inform the public that today, 7/9/2025, the body of an unidentified male was discovered near a transformer in Borno State University, Maiduguri. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was electrocuted in an attempt to vandalize electrical installations.


The Command has since commenced a full investigation into the incident, while the body in collaboration with Borno State Fire Service has been evacuated to the hospital for proper medical procedures.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, once again warns criminal elements to desist from acts of vandalism and sabotage, as such endanger lives and compromise public safety.


The Command reassures the good people of Borno State of its commitment to protecting lives and property and urges residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements around public infrastructure to the nearest police station.
