 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  First Lady Condoles With Arise News Media Over The Death Of Somtochukwu Maduagwu


Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has expressed sadness over the unfortunate and untimely death of a staff of Arise News Media, Somtochiukwu Maduagwu.


In a condolence message, she describes Somtochukwu as one of the nation’s young and brilliant minds in the journalism profession, noting that it was  painful to see her life cut short in her prime.


While condoling with the Chairman, Arise News Media, Chief Nduka Obaigbena, Somtochukwu’s  family, friends,  colleagues, and loved ones, the First Lady expresses hope that the perpetrators are apprehended as soon as possible and brought to book.


She prays God to grant repose to the soul of the deceased and gives her family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
