 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. The foreign ministry added in a statement that ⁠the U.S. announcement aligned with "the mischaracterisation of South Africa's domestic policies by fringe groups". "We maintain that challenges in our bilateral relations with the USA can only be resolved by constructive engagement through state actors on both sides of the diplomatic channel not unilateral acts," the statement said, Reuters reported. Trump has repeatedly criticized ‌South ⁠Africa since the start of his second term for what he falsely claims is the racial persecution of its white minority, citing affirmative action laws aimed at ⁠addressing the inequality that has persisted since apartheid.  Governor Umo Eno Celebrates Hilda Baci’s Bold Guinness World Record Attempt


Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, has congratulated Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, for her bold and inspiring attempt at another Guinness World Record, this time by cooking the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.


In a congratulatory message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno expressed pride and admiration for her effort:


“On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I celebrate you on your bold Guinness World Record attempt, this time by cooking the ‘largest pot of the Nigerian jollof rice.’
