 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Ibadan very strategic, central to development of Nigeria – Peter Obi


The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, during the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, has declared that Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria.


Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, made this declaration when he paid a visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja.


Our correspondent reports that Obi and some of his associates visited Ladoja at his Bodija residence in Ibadan on Sunday.


Obi was accompanied by the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party in Lagos State in 2023, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Mr Yunusa Tanko, among others.


The delegation arrived Ladoja’s residence around 10:55 am.


Obi while speaking explained that he came to pay homage to the Olubadan-designate because Ibadan is very strategic and central to the political, social and economic development of Nigeria.


Obi noted that Ladoja will bring his wealth of experience as a former senator, governor and business tycoon to lead Ibadan to a enviable positions.


He said, “The visit is about Nigeria, selfless leadership, leadership that is committed in turning out society around.


“Because, Ibadan is very strategic and central to the development of Nigeria. As a former governor, senator, business tycoon, he will have all what he needs to succeed. And I will support him as Olubadan for the sake of one Nigeria.


“Most of the schools in Ibadan, University of Ibadan for example were attended by many people from different parts of Nigeria and they are making it in all areas of human endeavors.”
