Catholic Priests Not Like ‘Fake Bishops’, Atiku Blasts Presidency’s Attack On Onaiyekan Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the Presidency’s attack on the Catholic Church and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, accusing the President Bola Tinubu administration of growing intolerant of dissent and uncomfortable truths. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu on Sunday, Atiku said the Presidency chose intimidation and political attacks instead of reflecting on the substance of the cleric’s message. Catholic bishops had recently had an engagement with the president, where the latter defended his record and the independence of the electoral umpire. However, the cardinal in a television interview on Friday said the Catholic bishops told the president that the country is bleeding and the economy is not helping poor citizens.  Ibrahim Chatta loses godson, not biological son – Opeyemi Aiyeola


Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has clarified the confusion surrounding actor Ibrahim Chatta’s recent loss.

Chatta’s initial Instagram post had led many to believe he had lost his biological son, drawing an outpouring of condolences from fans, friends, and colleagues.

However, Aiyeola explained on Instagram that the deceased was Chatta’s godson, whom he loved deeply and treated like his own child.

“Ibrahim Chatta didn’t lose his biological son but a godson, who is also like a son to him. May his pure soul continue to rest peacefully. It’s been an extremely emotional ride so far. God has mercy,” she wrote.

Chatta has since updated his post to reflect the clarification, writing, “Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, dear GodSon. Champ.”
