 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Imo state government begins construction of 105 school buildings across 27 LGA.


The Imo State Government has commenced the construction of 105 new primary and secondary school buildings across the state’s 27 local government areas.


In a statement on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Prince Eze Ugochukwu, said the project represents the first phase of a transformative education upgrade programme.


“The Imo State Government has commenced construction of 105 new buildings across primary and secondary schools in all 27 LGAs, marking the launch of the first phase of a transformative educational upgrade programme,” the statement read.


Ugochukwu explained that the initiative is aimed at addressing the shortage of classrooms and improving learning conditions in schools.
