 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  IMPLEMENTATION OF 2025 BUDGET CAPITAL COMPONENT TO COMMENCE


The National assembly joint committee on appropriations has reached an agreement with the national economic team on the immediate commencement of implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget.


At a meeting Thursday afternoon which resolved into closed door, both sides also affirmed earlier commitment during a meeting between the House of Representatives appropriation committee and the economic team that the circular issued by the federal government on the award of contract be withdrawn.


Those in attendance at the meeting are the chairmen of the Senate and House committee on appropriation, Senator Adeola Olamilekan and Representative Abubakar Bichi.


Also in attendance are the minister of finance wale edun, minister of Budget,  Atiku Bagudu, Accountant General of the Federation, Shamseldin Ogunjimi and the Director General Budget Office Tanimu Yakubu among others.


Details on discussions will be communicated after the closed session.
