Just a day earlier, the celebrated artist had enthralled audiences at the 4th Northeast India Festival (NEIF) 2025, held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, where he performed a moving rendition of Tears in Heaven.
According to reports, Garg fell unconscious after an incident in the sea and was rescued by Singapore police before being rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite being admitted to the ICU and receiving extensive medical care, doctors were unable to save him.
The news of his sudden demise has sent shockwaves across Assam and the entire Northeast, leaving fans and admirers mourning the untimely loss of one of the region’s most beloved cultural icons.
