The search operation, which began early in the morning, has already led to the recovery of ₹1.5 crore in unaccounted cash from Bora’s flat. Officials were seen using currency counting machines with the help of SBI bank staff to tally the massive stacks of notes.
Investigators allege that Bora, who has only six years of service in the ACS, has accumulated property and wealth far beyond her legitimate earnings. Sources suggest his assets could amount to a “mountain of property,” sparking serious concerns about corruption and abuse of office.
Meanwhile, in connection with the broader probe, another raid is underway at the residence of Surajit Deka, a land mandal formerly posted in Barpeta. Deka is also accused of large-scale corruption, allegedly amassing significant wealth through irregular means during his tenure.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Cell has not yet disclosed the full extent of the assets seized, and the raids are still in progress.
