The investigation into the disappearance of Pretoria businessman Jerry Boshoga has taken an international dimension, with Interpol now assisting the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Boshoga was kidnapped in Centurion in November 2024, and new leads suggest that Mozambican nationals are linked to the crime.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the case remains a top priority. A multidisciplinary team, including organised crime investigators, tactical units, and crime intelligence, is handling the matter. According to police, the investigation is now at a sensitive and advanced stage.
Reports indicate that Mozambican syndicates are suspected of orchestrating the abduction. These groups allegedly operate in structured teams, managing surveillance, ransom demands, and guarding of victims. Interpol’s involvement is expected to help overcome cross-border challenges.
