 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo.  Natasha storms NASS with supporters after office reopens


Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was today welcomed by hundreds of supporters as her Senate office was finally unsealed, more than six months after being barred from her duties.

Deputy Director of the Chamber’s Sergeant-at-Arms Alabo Adedeji, flanked by security personnel, formally reopened Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing—Akpoti-Uduaghan’s office. The move came after her six-month suspension formally lapsed earlier this month.

Her suspension, imposed in March 2025 amid a bitter row over the reassignment of her Senate seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, had prevented her from resuming legislative duties.

Although officially over in September, she remained blocked due to legal wrangling surrounding the terms of her suspension.

But with the office now unsealed, many see it as a sign the Senate may be softening its stance.

In the video making the rounds, Natasha could be seen smiling in the company of hundreds of supporters, who cheered and vowed to march her triumphantly to the National Assembly complex.

Hundreds surrounded the scene, cheering as Akpoti-Uduaghan marched in her return marking what supporters hope is the end of the months-long standoff.
