 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Nigerian Army Debunks False Recruitment Claims, Warns Against Fraudsters


The Nigerian Army has refuted social media reports claiming it is recruiting applicants for the 90th Regular Intake, labeling the advertisements as false and misleading. In a statement issued on Saturday by Captain AU Hammanga, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations Directorate of Recruitment, the Army urged the public to disregard the viral recruitment notices entirely.


Captain Hammanga emphasized that the Nigerian Army has not announced any ongoing recruitment and advised applicants to await official announcements through verified channels. “The Nigerian Army maintains a clean and clear website for all recruitment-related information,” the statement read, urging prospective applicants to rely only on credible sources to avoid falling victim to scams.


The Army also issued a stern warning to fraudsters exploiting the fake recruitment advertisements, stating they should desist or face consequences. “We remain committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” the statement added, cautioning the public against engaging with deceitful individuals or groups posing as recruitment agents.


The Nigerian Army reiterated its dedication to maintaining integrity in its recruitment processes and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities related to fraudulent recruitment schemes.
