 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  PDP Kebbi Conduct LG Congress, Leaders Encourages Members




The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully conducted its Ward Congresses across the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State, electing new executives and delegates in various wards.


Gwangwadija Ward in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, members of the Ward Congress Election Committee from the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, led by the PDP Chairman of Sokoto State, Bello Aliyu Goronyo, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise.


Goronyo expressed satisfaction with the exercise stressing that the  turnout was encouraging, and a testament that the PDP is still accepted by the people


He noted that despite the challenges facing the party, the PDP remains a formidable opposition force in Nigeria.


The national delegation also held a meeting with security agencies and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), commending them for their roles in ensuring a hitch-free exercise, particularly in security-prone areas.


Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the PDP Ward Congress in Kebbi State, Sani Dododo who also serves as the party’s Publicity Secretary affirmed the unity and strength of the party in the state.
