 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  POLICE ARREST WOMAN OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO TRAFFIC THREE CHILDREN IN NASARAWA

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old woman, Aisha Hashiru, for allegedly attempting to traffic three minors in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area.


Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday in Lafia.


According to him, the suspect was caught on September 4 at about 5:45 p.m. by vigilant residents at Orange Market, Mararaba, while attempting to abduct the children. She was rescued from being lynched after operatives of Mararaba ‘A’ Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intervened swiftly.


The rescued victims were identified as Fatima Auwal, 4, Shafiyi Auwal, 5, and Amina Auwal, 6.


“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect sneaked into the residence of one Ramatu Auwal and abducted her three children. She was intercepted shortly after, and upon interrogation, confessed to luring them under the pretext of buying biscuits,” Nansel stated.


He added that Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lafia, for further investigation.


The commissioner further tasked officers to intensify efforts at resolving other reported cases of missing children, reaffirming the command’s resolve to combat human trafficking in the state.
