 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  POLICE ARREST WOMAN OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO TRAFFIC THREE CHILDREN IN NASARAWA

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old woman, Aisha Hashiru, for allegedly attempting to traffic three minors in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area.


Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday in Lafia.


According to him, the suspect was caught on September 4 at about 5:45 p.m. by vigilant residents at Orange Market, Mararaba, while attempting to abduct the children. She was rescued from being lynched after operatives of Mararaba ‘A’ Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intervened swiftly.


The rescued victims were identified as Fatima Auwal, 4, Shafiyi Auwal, 5, and Amina Auwal, 6.


“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect sneaked into the residence of one Ramatu Auwal and abducted her three children. She was intercepted shortly after, and upon interrogation, confessed to luring them under the pretext of buying biscuits,” Nansel stated.


He added that Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lafia, for further investigation.


The commissioner further tasked officers to intensify efforts at resolving other reported cases of missing children, reaffirming the command’s resolve to combat human trafficking in the state.
