 Prince William and Kate Middleton bring George, Charlotte and Louis to Commonwealth Games for first Scotland public outing Prince William and Kate Middleton brought their three children to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, marking the siblings’ first official public appearance in Scotland. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 44, attended the sporting event on Saturday, Aug. 1, during their summer break with Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. While in Scotland, where William and Kate are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the family spent time with Team Wales athletes and their families. The couple also visited SportsAid, an organisation that supports young athletes. Kate has served as patron of the organisation since 2013. The Commonwealth Games, held every four years, brings together athletes from across the Commonwealth of Nations. PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS MRS. LEILA FOWLER, ICON OF EDUCATION AND SERVICE

 

President Bola Tinubu expresses sadness over the passing of Chief (Mrs.) Leila Euphemia Apinke Fowler, a lawyer, renowned educationist and founder of the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Lagos.

 

Fowler, the Yeye Mofin of Lagos and mother of Babatunde Fowler, former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), died at 92.

 

President Tinubu describes her death as a massive loss to her family, loved ones, and the entire nation, particularly the education sector, where she distinguished herself as a visionary and trailblazer.

 

The President remarks: "Through establishing the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls, the late Mrs. Fowler laid the foundation for academic excellence, nurturing generations of young women and empowering them to reach their fullest potential.

 

"Her legacy lives on in the thousands of lives she transformed. The nation is grateful for her remarkable impact. She will be fondly engraved in our minds."

 

President Tinubu extends his heartfelt condolences to the Fowler family, friends, associates, the management and students of Vivian Fowler Memorial College, and the people of Lagos State.

 

The President prays that Almighty God will grant her soul eternal repose and comfort all who mourn her passing.
