 Two Zimbabwean Men Arrested with Explosives in Barberton


Police in Mpumalanga have arrested two Zimbabwean nationals after they were found with dangerous explosives at a guest house in New Village, Barberton, on Sunday, 28 September 2025.


According to authorities, the suspects were discovered with luggage containing explosives. When questioned, they failed to provide valid reasons for being in possession of the items.


Further investigations revealed that the explosives were allegedly intended for use in illegal mining activities around Barberton.


The two suspects remain in police custody and are expected to appear in court soon.
