Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute. Over time, they stepped away from Hollywood and fully transitioned into fashion, officially launching The Row in 2005. TRUMP PLEDGES NATIONAL EMERGENCY IN WASHINGTON, DC, OVER ICE CONFLICT. (PHOTO).

Trump pledges national emergency in Washington, DC, over ICE conflict

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he would declare a national emergency and federalize Washington, D.C., after Mayor Muriel Bowser stated that the city’s police would not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The dispute centers on sharing information about individuals living in or entering the United States illegally, and Trump’s move has drawn criticism as an example of federal overreach, with more than 2,000 troops currently patrolling the city.

The announcement comes after thousands of protesters took to the streets earlier this month following Trump’s August deployment of National Guard troops to restore what he called “law, order, and public safety” in response to rising crime concerns. Trump posted on Truth Social that the city is “absolutely booming… for the first time in decades, virtually NO CRIME.” Bowser’s office did not immediately respond to the comments.

Trump previously placed the metropolitan police department under federal control and deployed federal law enforcement, including ICE agents, to patrol the streets. The timeline for their mission remains unclear. He accused “Radical Left Democrats” of pressuring Bowser to withhold cooperation with ICE, warning that crime would surge if local police stopped assisting federal authorities. “To the people and businesses of Washington, D.C., DON’T WORRY, I AM WITH YOU, AND WON’T ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN. I’ll call a National Emergency, and Federalize, if necessary!!!” Trump wrote.

Bowser, who has acknowledged the crime reduction from the federal surge, previously signed an order directing city coordination with federal law enforcement. Unlike state National Guards, which report to their governors unless federalized, the D.C. National Guard answers directly to the president.
