Bad Bunny set to headline 2026 Super Bowl halftime show

Bad Bunny is set to bring his signature Latin trap and reggaeton style to one of the world’s most-watched stages, headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The announcement was made Sunday by the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation, marking a major milestone in the Puerto Rican superstar’s meteoric career. The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has become one of the most-streamed performers globally, with albums like Un Verano Sin Ti redefining the mainstream reach of Spanish-language music. His selection for the Super Bowl comes on the heels of a historic residency in Puerto Rico earlier this month that drew over half a million fans and ahead of the Latin Grammys in November, where he leads all nominees with 12 nods.

In a statement, Bad Bunny called the moment a victory for his culture and the generations who paved the way. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” he said. Roc Nation founder Jay-Z praised Bad Bunny’s influence, calling his work for Puerto Rico “truly inspiring” and saying it was an honor to bring him to the biggest stage in sports. The 31-year-old artist has won three Grammys, 12 Latin Grammys, starred in major films like Bullet Train and Caught Stealing, and collaborated with major fashion brands, cementing his status as a global cultural force.

The halftime show will be co-executive produced by Roc Nation and Emmy winner Jesse Collins, with Hamish Hamilton directing. NFL executive Jon Barker said fans should expect a bold and unforgettable performance, describing Bad Bunny as an artist with “dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans.” Apple Music’s Oliver Schusser echoed that sentiment, saying the show will celebrate how Bad Bunny has elevated Latin music to the center of pop culture. Last year’s record-breaking halftime show featuring Kendrick Lamar and SZA drew 133.5 million viewers, setting the bar high for 2026. With Bad Bunny at the helm, the NFL and its partners are promising a halftime spectacle that reflects his global impact and the growing power of Latin music.
