No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

Vietnamese man sets record with fingernails over 19 feet long

A Vietnamese man has set a Guinness World Record for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (male), with a combined length of 19 feet 6 inches. Lưu Công Huyền has not cut his nails in 30 years, making them longer than the height of an average adult giraffe.

Huyền explained that his fingernail growth began because of his father, who was a shaman. “I wanted to become a teacher, so I grew them to look more majestic,” he said. Although he eventually gave up his teaching ambitions at his father’s urging, he continued letting his nails grow. Huyền described trimming them as mentally and physically exhausting, saying it would feel uncomfortable to cut them.

Maintaining such long nails requires constant care. Huyền said they must be kept dry, as exposure to water can soften them and cause them to break. In crowded areas, he must be vigilant to prevent accidental damage. Even routine tasks, such as climbing scaffolding for work, require deliberate and careful movements to protect his record-setting nails.
