 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 Zamfara Education: Gov  Lawal Flag-Off Distribution Of Teaching, Learning MaterialsTo Public Schools



Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has procured 408,137 teaching and learning materials for distribution to public schools across the State. 


The official flag-off of the distribution by Governor Lawal was held at the Teacher Training and Development Centre (TTDC), Bypass Road in Gusau, the Zamfara  State Capital.


Governor Dauda while flagging off the distribution of the materials to the public Schools,  emphasised that the flag-off is more than handing out books, but it is about keeping Zamfara on a path of recovery, renewal, and progress through quality education.


He acknowledged the support of the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund ( UNICEF), which provided 5000 climate change and Earning warning handbooks to Zamfara and the  Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) with an additional 777,609 instructional materials to complement the Zamfara State Government's initiative.


Governor Lawal appreciated the role which teachers play, and he says no investment can substitute their dedication to inspiring students daily.


He added that the materials being distributed will have meaning impact only if they are effectively used by the teachers..


The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wadatau Madawaki, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Maryam Shantali, lauded Governor Dauda Lawal for making good  his administration desired  to reposition the sector.


The Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Education Board, Professor Nasiru Anka, disclosed that the board had set up a committee to monitor and  ensure the teaching and learning materials are utilized to improve the quality of education in the State.


Governor Dauda Lawal appreciated development partners for their partnership with the State and wants them to do more, even as he urges parents and Guardians to encourage their children and wards to take education seriously, as discipline and guidance at home are the foundation of success.
