Waiver Thompson, Shaun Miller, Adhonest Thomas, and Isaiah Ross were enjoying their Saturday evening with their girlfriends on September 27th.
The four young men were traveling together in a vehicle while their girlfriends shared a vehicle that was just ahead of them before tragedy struck.
As their small convoy approached Cline Smith Road while traveling down State Road 20 in Cartersville, they decided to have some fun with their girlfriends.
They sped up and passed the vehicle the girls were in so they could shout funny things and flirt with their girlfriends.
Unfortunately, the men were so intent on their objective that they failed to see the red light at the intersection.
Their vehicle collided with a vehicle traveling down Cline Smith Road, the result was devastating and fatal.
All four young men lost their lives. Adhonest Thomas passed away on scene. Isaiah Ross and Shaun Miller both perished in flight while being life flighted from the crash scene.
Xavier Thompson was flown to Wellestar Kennestone Hospital, where he perished 16 hours later. The two occupants of the vehicle that was struck by the four young men were also taken to the same hospital and their condition remains unknown. Our thoughts are with them as well and we hope they make a full recovery.
The sudden and tragic deaths have left the community reeling. The crash scene has transformed into a memorial to the lives lost, with family and friends placing crosses and momentos. A large crowd gathered on the evening of Monday, September 29th, to pay respects.
Our heart goes out to the four families dealing with this sudden loss. One moment of inattentiveness and tomfoolery has shattered the lives of so many.
