Alec Baldwin crashes vehicle into tree in East Hampton

Alec Baldwin crashed his SUV into a tree while driving in East Hampton on Monday, authorities said. Both Baldwin and his brother, actor Stephen Baldwin, who was riding with him, were unharmed, though the front of the vehicle sustained significant damage.

Baldwin addressed the incident on Instagram, explaining that a large garbage truck cut him off, forcing him to swerve and hit the tree. He apologized for damaging his wife’s car but reassured followers that he and his brother were fine. Baldwin also thanked the East Hampton Police Department for their assistance and confirmed he filed a report. Police said the crash, which occurred just after noon, was influenced by the truck and wet road conditions. No injuries or summonses were reported.
