Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011. Previous attempts to move the case forward were blocked because the claims were made years after the alleged incidents, with courts initially ruling that the delayed discovery doctrine did not apply.  Crisis rocks Adamawa ADC as Babachir Lawal, Binani loyalists fight for chairmanship


A leadership crisis has broken out in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa over who should serve as the party’s state chairman.

The crisis, which began shortly after the party’s formation in the state, has led to the emergence of two factions, led by Sadiq Dasin and Saidu Komsiri.

Babachir Lawal, former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) and ADC national vice-chairman, said his faction, which is chaired by Dasin, remains the authentic leadership of the party in the state.

Lawal said any other group claiming to lead the ADC in Adamawa is “null and void”.

In Lawal’s camp are Bindow Jibrilla, former governor of the state; Abdul-Aziz Nyako, former senator representing Adamawa central; and Elisha Abbo, former senator representing Adamawa north.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has declared his support for the Dasin-led group.

“It is my hope and prayer that their inauguration will strengthen our party’s structure and unify all ADC members in Adamawa state. I fully and unequivocally support this leadership as inaugurated,” Atiku wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

However, the faction led by Komsiri faulted Lawal’s actions, saying his claim of acting on behalf of the zonal and national leadership of the party is untrue.

The Komsiri-led executive, reportedly backed by Aisha Binani, a former senator and house of representatives’ member, pledged to uphold the ADC constitution and reconcile all aggrieved members.

“I’ll reconcile aggrieved members and promote unity among all stakeholders,” Komsiri said during a media briefing held in Yola, the capital of Adamawa.

“I will supervise membership registration, mobilise massive membership and renewal exercise in the state, and prepare and conduct ward, local government, and state congresses to elect substantive executives.”

The party’s internal divisions have raised concerns among stakeholders about its readiness to challenge other political forces in the 2027 elections.
