  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous.  Governor Siminalayi Fubara relieves commissioners affected by Supreme Court judgement


Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has relieved all commissioners and public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment on their appointments with immediate effect. The governor made the announcement during a valedictory session with his cabinet, held on Wednesday at Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.


In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to members of his cabinet for their dedication and contributions to the development of Rivers State over the past two years.


Highlighting the significance of Nigeria’s independence, the governor urged citizens to work with President Bola Tinubu in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation with a brighter future for all.


Governor Fubara also reaffirmed his commitment to serve Rivers State with renewed vigour, appreciated the support of the people, and wished Nigerians a happy 65th independence anniversary.
