 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Governor Siminalayi Fubara relieves commissioners affected by Supreme Court judgement


Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has relieved all commissioners and public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgment on their appointments with immediate effect. The governor made the announcement during a valedictory session with his cabinet, held on Wednesday at Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.


In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to members of his cabinet for their dedication and contributions to the development of Rivers State over the past two years.


Highlighting the significance of Nigeria’s independence, the governor urged citizens to work with President Bola Tinubu in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation with a brighter future for all.


Governor Fubara also reaffirmed his commitment to serve Rivers State with renewed vigour, appreciated the support of the people, and wished Nigerians a happy 65th independence anniversary.
