 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Lady Gaga’s grandmother dies at 94

Lady Gaga’s grandmother, Angelina Calderone Germanotta, has passed away at the age of 94. She died on October 12, just days before what would have been her 95th birthday. A funeral was held for her on October 17 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.

Angelina, the mother of Gaga’s father Joe Germanotta, was the matriarch of the Germanotta family and shared a close bond with her superstar granddaughter. Gaga’s full name, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, honors her grandmother, a tribute the singer has said reflects her family legacy and Italian heritage. Angelina was known for her compassion, speaking out in 2021 after Gaga’s two French bulldogs were kidnapped, expressing concern for both the injured dog walker and the pets. Lady Gaga has not yet publicly commented on her grandmother’s passing.
