Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011.  LASODA EMPOWERS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH CASH SUPPORT INITIATIVE

The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities through its two-day cash support initiative held on October 13th and 14th, 2025, at the Agency’s premises.

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager of LASODA, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the Head of Finance and Accounts Department, Mr. Hezekiah Akinbule, emphasised that the initiative demonstrates Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering dedication to ensuring that no segment of society is left behind.

In his words, “On behalf of the Lagos State Government, represented by LASODA, each beneficiary will receive the sum of ₦100,000. This gesture is not intended to solve all your challenges but to show that the government cares deeply about you and that you are not forgotten. We are here for you, and by God’s grace, before you leave here, you will receive your alerts. A symbolic presentation of dummy cheques will also be made for documentation and photo purposes.”

The event witnessed the empowerment of several individuals across different disability clusters, including Ms. Akanbi Opayemi Blessing, Omo Tola Owolabi, and Gift Blessing Igwe from the visually impaired cluster, as well as Shonibare Adenike Mustapha Ganiyu from the physically challenged cluster, among others.

Mr. Akinbule further commended the beneficiaries for their resilience and encouraged them to utilise the support effectively to enhance their livelihoods. He reaffirmed LASODA’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in Lagos State.

The two-day programme forms part of LASODA’s broader mandate to implement the Lagos State Special People’s Law and to foster a more inclusive society where people with disabilities can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the State’s development.
