Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli split after 28 years of marriage

“Full House” star Lori Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are separating after nearly 28 years of marriage, representatives confirmed.

“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time,” Loughlin’s spokesperson Elizabeth Much said.

The news comes months after the couple listed their 11,800‑square‑foot Hidden Hills home for $16.5 million, which they had purchased in August 2020 for $9.5 million. They share two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, who were both involved in the high-profile college admissions scandal known as “Operation Varsity Blues.”

In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud for allegedly paying $500,000 to secure their daughters’ admission to the University of Southern California by falsely designating them as crew recruits, despite neither having participated in the sport. Loughlin served two months in prison, while Giannulli served five. Since her release in December 2020, Loughlin has gradually returned to acting, appearing in TV films such as “When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas,” “Fall Into Winter,” “A Christmas Blessing,” and guest spots on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Blue Bloods,” and “On Call.”

The couple were among the most prominent figures charged in the scheme, which revealed how some wealthy parents used bribes and falsified credentials to get their children into elite universities. Felicity Huffman, of “Desperate Housewives,” was also implicated.

In April 2024, Loughlin gave her first major post-scandal interview, reflecting on forgiveness without directly addressing the case. “I try to be a forgiving person. We’ve all been in positions to ask for forgiveness, but to ask for it, you have to learn and know how to give forgiveness, too,” she said.

Shortly before the separation was made public, Loughlin was photographed dining on Oct. 1 with actor James Tupper, a longtime friend and former co‑star. While the outing sparked speculation, sources said the two remain close friends.
