 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week.  LSDPC SIGNS LANDMARK JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT WITH MEH REPORTAGE


The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has officially signed a joint venture agreement with the Middle East Harvesters (MEH REPORTAGE) for the development of a world-class hotel and residential complex strategically located at the corner piece of Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos.


The project, which stands as a major milestone in LSDPC’s urban development drive, will feature a 28-floor structure comprising 592 units that include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, alongside conference facilities and retail spaces designed to enhance both residential comfort and commercial vibrancy.


At the meeting, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LSDPC, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, expressed his delight at the realization of the partnership, describing the project as a once in a lifetime opportunity. He noted that the initiative reflects the Corporation’s vision to create transformative developments that will redefine urban living standards in Lagos.


The partnership with MEH REPORTAGE marks a significant step forward in the Corporation’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-value real estate developments across Lagos State.
