MAIDEN EDITION OF NIGERIA POLICE INSURANCE SENSITISATION PROGRAMME HOLDS IN FCT AND NASARAWA STATE COMMANDS

The Nigeria Police Force has taken a significant step towards strengthening the welfare and financial security of its personnel with the successful commencement of the maiden edition of the Insurance Sensitisation Programme for officers, held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command and the Nasarawa State Command. The sensitisation exercise attracted officers from all Area Commands and Divisions across the states.

Delivering her lecture, ACP Ameh Lydia, the Force Insurance Officer enlightened officers on the range of insurance and welfare schemes available to serving personnel. She outlined the key features of the Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, the Group Life Assurance Scheme (as provided under Section 4 of the Pension Reform Act, 2004), the Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme, and the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, all designed to ensure adequate financial protection for officers and their families. These scheme collectively provides comprehensives coverage throughout an officer’s carrier, including benefits in cases of accidents, injuries, or death in active service.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel, noting that the Insurance Sensitisation Programme reflects his vision of building a motivated, secure, and future-conscious Police Force. He stressed that officers who feel protected and supported are better positioned to deliver quality service to the nation.
