 Trump announces Hamas disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawal agreement under Gaza ceasefire plan   President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Hamas has agreed to a plan to disarm and that Israel will withdraw its forces from Gaza as part of a U.S.-backed ceasefire framework. Trump described the agreement as a major step toward creating a new Palestinian government in Gaza that would work with the newly established Board of Peace to oversee the next stages of the plan. The president said the agreement would also provide Israel with increased security by preventing Gaza from being used as a launching point for future attacks. Details of the agreement were limited, and neither Israel nor Hamas immediately released statements responding to Trump’s announcement. The Board of Peace said Hamas had agreed to a roadmap for moving forward with the next phases of the ceasefire after months of negotiations.  Minister of State for Works Donates Drugs to Fight Cholera Outbreak in Goronyo LGA, Sokoto State


In response to the cholera outbreak in Sokoto state, the minister of state for works,  Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has donated assorted drugs worth millions of naira to combat the public health crisis in  Goronyo local government area. 


The drugs are to be distributed to 11 wards in the area for the treatment of victims of the recent cholera outbreak.


The donation is part of the minister’s ongoing commitment to supporting public health initiatives in sokoto state, and it aimes at assisting those affected by the disease outbreak.


Chief medical director of Amanawa infectious diseases hospital, Dr Garba Muhammad, presented the drugs on behalf of the minister.


He says the gesture is an emergency response to the cholera outbreaks recorded in some communities of the local government area.


 He adds the donation is to complement efforts of the sokoto state government in containing the outbreak.


Chairman goronyo local government area, represented by the deputy director of health, Yakubu Miwake, explained that the drugs would be distributed across the wards to support treatment and curb further spread of the disease.


He commended the minister for his quick intervention, stating that the drugs will go a long way in supporting the effected communities.
