 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Nigerian Woman Says Leaving Her Loveless Marriage at 24 Was the Best Decision She Ever Made


A Nigerian woman, Chukwudi Mmesoma, has shared how walking away from her loveless marriage at age 24 turned out to be one of the best choices of her life.


In a Facebook post on Thursday, the mother of two said she refused to remain in an unhappy union just for the sake of her children, stressing that doing so would have cost her youthful years.


“It has been seven years now, and I’m extremely grateful to God,” she wrote. “I left while still young and full of life. Waiting for the children to grow up is often an excuse women use to stay in marriages that clearly aren’t working.”


Now 31, Mmesoma said she has rebuilt her life and is proud of her decision. “I was told I’d get tired and run back, but it’s been seven years — and I’ve never looked back,” she added.
