  ‘The View’ Announces Whoopi Goldberg Hiatus — Here’s Why She’s Stepping Away Whoopi Goldberg is temporarily stepping away from *The View* — but fans of the longtime moderator don’t need to worry about her leaving the show for good. Goldberg, 70, will be absent from most episodes of the ABC daytime talk show over the next two weeks while she films an upcoming movie for Netflix. The actress and comedian revealed the news during an appearance on *The View’s* companion podcast, *Behind the Table*, alongside executive producer Brian Teta. Teta explained that Goldberg will be away for the next two weeks but will continue appearing on the show on Mondays because filming for the movie is taking place nearby. ### **Whoopi Is Heading Back to the Movies** Goldberg’s temporary absence comes as she begins production on *Women Like Us*, an upcoming Netflix comedy produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions.  One Killed, Another Injured in Senwabarwana Shooting, Police Launch Manhunt


The Police in Senwabarwana, under the Capricorn District, have launched a manhunt for suspects following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of one man and the injury of another at Senwabarwana Park on Thursday, 02 October 2025, at around 21:15.


According to a police report, officers responded to a complaint of murder at the park and, upon arrival, discovered the body of a 24-year-old man lying in a supine position with a gunshot wound to the upper body.


A second victim, aged 22, was later found at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to both the upper and lower body.


The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the suspects are still at large. Police have urged anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact Sergeant Phineas Magwele on 076 236 4689.
