 No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), on her birthday.

 

In a statement by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, "the President rejoices with the devoted public servant, who started her career as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and was elected member of the House of Representatives in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

 

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa was chairman of the House Committee on Media & Publicity and chaired the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.

 

President Tinubu affirms that the Chairperson of NIDCOM has demonstrated love for the country and humanity, over many years by consistently placing the welfare and well-being of the underprivileged at the centre of her work.

 

It adds, "The President notes the passion, diligence, and foresight that Dabiri-Erewa brings to her work as a journalist, lawmaker, and chief executive of NIDCOM, particularly her historic roles in pursuing social justice for Nigerians at home and abroad.

 

President Tinubu acknowledges the patriotic roles of Dabiri-Erewa in attracting Diaspora talents to contribute to the country's development, particularly in education, health, and sports, affirming that her awards and recognition over the years were well deserved. It concludes.
