 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. Risky Business and The Breakfast Club actor Ron Dean dies at 87

Ron Dean, the veteran actor known for his roles in Risky Business and The Breakfast Club, has died at the age of 87. Dean passed away Sunday at a hospital in Chicago after a long illness, according to his partner of 40 years, Maggie Neff.

Dean often portrayed law enforcement figures on screen, beginning with one of his earliest roles in Risky Business alongside Tom Cruise. He also appeared with William Shatner in T.J. Hooker and starred in The Package with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones. Among his most recognized roles, Dean played Emilio Estevez’s father in The Breakfast Club and appeared in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

His extensive television career included appearances on NYPD Blue, Murder, She Wrote, ER, Chicago Hope, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Cold Case, Frasier, Without a Trace, The West Wing, Still Standing, and Numb3rs. Dean’s work left a lasting mark on both film and television, and he is remembered for his commanding presence and versatility as a character actor.
