 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Alexandra Businessman and Community Leader Shot Dead


Tragic news has rocked Alexandra this morning following the fatal shooting of well-known businessman and Alexandra Parliament President, Vincent “Vinny” Ndima, who was gunned down in the early hours of the morning.


According to reports, Ndima was travelling with his friend, Thabo Mahane, when their vehicle came under heavy gunfire at the corner of 13th Avenue and Joe Nhlanhla Street. Eyewitnesses say the pair were ambushed by heavily armed men, with nearly 40 spent cartridges recovered from the scene. Mahane, who sustained serious injuries, reportedly returned fire before the gunmen fled. Ndima was declared dead at the scene, while Mahane remains in critical condition in hospital.


Vinny was widely admired in Alexandra for his community work, known for providing food parcels to the needy, assisting families with funeral costs, and helping renovate homes in partnership with local councillors.


Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to the public for any information that could help bring the perpetrators to justice.
