Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute. Over time, they stepped away from Hollywood and fully transitioned into fashion, officially launching The Row in 2005.  ‘Self-proclaimed Obi of Lagos’ apologises to Oba, state govt

Chibuike Azubuike, the self-styled “Obi of Lagos,” who was arrested in September by police operatives for his alleged involvement in a fraud-related case, has issued a public apology to the Lagos State Government and the Oba of Lagos.

Azubuike had earlier stirred controversy after announcing plans to host an Igbo New Yam Festival in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State, a move that drew backlash from residents who viewed it as an attempt to impose Igbo cultural practices in a state deeply rooted in Yoruba heritage.

In a public notice published in a national daily, Azubuike expressed regret for his actions and pledged to conduct himself responsibly moving forward.

“I, Mr Chibuike Azubuike, hereby tender this unreserved apology to the Oba of Lagos, the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Government and the good people of Lagos State over my unguided proposal to hold the New Yam Festival scheduled for Saturday, 13th of September 2025, in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State,” his statement read.

Azubuike also clarified that the controversial title “Obi of Lagos” was never self-assumed but resulted from a printing error.

“The caption therein as ‘OBI OF LAGOS’ was a typographical error from the print man,” he explained.

He also stressed that the decision to cancel the planned festival was made voluntarily, dismissing claims that he was pressured or politically motivated.

“Contrary to insinuations that it was politically driven, I am not a politician. However, if I ever decide to join politics in the future, I would align with the ruling All Progressives Congress to contribute to the progress of Lagos State,” Azubuike added.
