 LAGOS LAW REFORM COMMISSION ENGAGES TOURISM, AGRICULTURE MINISTRIES ON SECTORAL LAW REFORMS The Lagos State Law Reform Commission recently held consultative engagements with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems as part of ongoing efforts to review, modernise and harmonise sectoral laws for improved governance, institutional efficiency and sustainable development in Lagos State. The engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture was initiated and led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ogunlola.  The delegation was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Princess Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, alongside relevant departmental and agency representatives.  TRAGEDY IN MAKURDI: 18-YEAR-OLD BOY COMMITS SUICIDE

A somber mood enveloped the High Level area of Makurdi, Benue State capital, after an 18-year-old identified as Tersoo Veregh was found dead, having allegedly taken his own life.


The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at the family’s residence on Ior kya-ako Street, when the boy’s father, Mr. Veregh Nathaniel, reportedly discovered his son hanging from the ceiling around 2 a.m.


According to details shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama via X (formerly Twitter), police officers from the ‘B’ Division in Makurdi were immediately alerted. They visited the scene, documented evidence, and evacuated the body to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) morgue.


Confirming the development, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Udeme Edet, said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death had commenced.


“We are aware of the incident, and investigation is ongoing,” Edet stated.
