 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Treat Gunshot Victims First — No Police Report Needed!


The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) have reminded hospitals nationwide that gunshot victims must be treated immediately, with or without a police report.


The warning follows fresh cases of hospitals refusing emergency care — a violation of the Compulsory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshot Wounds Act (2017).


📜 What the law says:

✅ All hospitals — public or private — must treat gunshot victims without delay.

🚫 No police report is required before treatment.

⚖️ Failure to comply can lead to 5 years in prison, a ₦500,000 fine, or both for any person or authority responsible for negligence.
