 TROOPS OF OPERATION UDO KA UNCOVER SHALLOW GRAVE, EXHUME REMAINS OF LATE COMMUNITY LEADER IN IMO STATE Troops of 34 Artillery Brigade, operating under Operation UDO KA and through the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY II, have achieved another significant breakthrough with the recovery and dignified exhumation of the remains of the late Chief Ibe Anyadu of Aggah Community. Chief Anyadu was allegedly murdered by suspected members of a criminal gang recently apprehended in connection with violent crimes in the region. This development follows recent intelligence-driven operations that led to the arrest of suspects responsible for the killing of a Nigerian Army soldier and the recovery of stolen service weapons. During interrogation, one of the suspects confessed to involvement in the murder of Chief Anyadu and volunteered to lead troops to the burial site. A 5-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO WAS STAYING WITH FAMILY IN INDIANAPOLIS HAS DIED FROM A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND.(PHOTO)

 A 5-year-old boy who was staying with family in Indianapolis has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.


Indianapolis Metro Police were called to a home on the Stone Ridge Apartments at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. 


Officers were responding to the report of a person shot. However, responding officers would be shocked and heartbroken when they discovered the victim. 


Officers discovered 5-year-old Andreas Woodland suffering from what appeared to be an accidental self-inflicted gunshot. 


The child's devastated family stood by as the child was rushed to a nearby hospital.  Sadly, Andreas was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 


Andreas's parents were not present at the time of the accident. Andreas was under the care of a relative. However, the exact relationship is not clear. 


Police conducted interviews with several adults present at the time of the shooting. Police say the family has fully cooperated with the investigation. 


Indianapolis PD officer, Tommy Thompson, hopes that this tragedy serves as a reminder for gun owners to store them safely out of the reach of children.  He is quoted saying, "You can't take a bullet back once it's left the gun and, in this instance, a child got a hold of a firearm. We got to do better as adults."


He reminds residents of Marion County, Indiana, that free gun locks are available at the Marion County Library. Please go get your free lock today.
