 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Anambra guber: I’m a winner – AAC’s Ifemeludike declares despite 292 votes


The candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the just concluded Anambra State governorship election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has described herself as a winner despite losing the election to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

According to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, secured 292 votes in the poll.

INEC declared the incumbent governor, Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the election with 422,664 votes.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, came second with 99,445 votes.

However, in a post shared on her X handle on Sunday, Ifemeludike said her modest tally represented a symbolic victory rooted in principles rather than political machinery.

“Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner!” she wrote.

Ifemeludike gained significant online attention during the campaign for her unconventional photos and videos.

She said she was satisfied with her performance and noted that her campaign was conducted without malpractice.

She maintained that her participation in the race underscored the importance of sincerity, courage, and clean politics, even in an environment dominated by bigger political parties.
