Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  ANGLICAN CHURCH CONDEMNS KILLING OF VENERABLE EDWIN ACHI


The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has condemned the killing of Venerable Edwin Achi, a priest of the Diocese of Kaduna, who was murdered after a month-long abduction.


In a statement signed by the Primate, Archbishop Henry Ndukuba, the Church described the incident as a tragic loss and an assault on the nation’s conscience.


The Church called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and international partners to identify and bring to justice the sponsors and enablers of attacks targeting clergy and vulnerable communities.


It also appealed for the immediate and unconditional release of the priest’s wife and daughter, who were abducted alongside him and remain in captivity.


The Anglican Communion urged authorities to intensify efforts to end kidnappings nationwide and prayed for comfort for the family and healing for the nation.
