 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer,  Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Mrs. Gozy Ijogun, Founder/CEO of Task Systems Ltd, on the outstanding global recognition of her Nigerian-founded technology company as a 2025 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award winner in the United States of America.

In a congratulatory message, Dabiri-Erewa commended Mrs Gozy Ijogun and Task Systems  that they had made Nigeria proud once again. "Winning a Microsoft Partner of the Year Award on American soil is a powerful testament to Nigerian brilliance, entrepreneurial spirit, and global competitiveness.


This is a huge victory for our nation and an inspiration to millions of young Nigerians in the tech space."

It adds, Mrs Gozy  Ijogun graduated from Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja and later earned a First Class Honours in Computer Science from the University College,  London and thereafter obtained advanced certifications and executive training from leading global institutions.

She later returned to Nigeria to subsequently lead the Task Systems team.
