 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  China begins nationwide fire safety inspections after Hong Kong blaze

China has launched a nationwide inspection of fire safety in high-rise buildings following a deadly blaze in Hong Kong that killed at least 128 people, officials announced Saturday. The move aims to prevent similar disasters on the mainland.

The Ministry of Emergency Management said the inspection will focus on buildings undergoing exterior renovations and interior modifications. Authorities will examine flammable materials used in wall insulation, banned construction materials such as bamboo scaffolding, fire safety equipment, and emergency evacuation routes. Local officials are required to carry out thorough inspections and immediately address any hazards, with strict penalties for serious violations. The Hong Kong fire, which began on Wednesday, rapidly consumed seven of eight 32-story blocks at an apartment complex under renovation, highlighting risks linked to combustible scaffolding and foam insulation.
