 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Criticism Mounts As Arewa Consultative Forum Prepares Anniversary Celebration Amid Northern Nigeria Security Crisis


As Northern Nigeria continues to face escalating insecurity, including attacks on communities, schools, and the killings of key figures, critics are questioning the priorities of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).


Social commentator IG Wala observed that while “Arewa is bleeding” from ongoing terrorist attacks, kidnappings, and violence, the ACF is reportedly focused on organizing a high-profile and costly anniversary celebration scheduled for this week.


“Where is our conscience?” IG Wala asked, highlighting the perceived disconnect between the region’s pressing security challenges and the organization’s activities.


These remarks come amid rising public concern over the safety of Northern communities and mounting calls for urgent action to address the escalating violence.
