 OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA: TROOPS DESTROY TERRORIST HIDEOUTS AS OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS COMMENCE IN KATSINA STATE Troops of Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) have commenced a deliberate offensive operation, code-named Operation CLEAN SWEEP III, targeting terrorist and bandit elements operating within Matazu Local Government Area and adjoining communities in Katsina State. The operation was launched following the unfortunate incident that led to the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was abducted alongside his wife by suspected terrorists and bandits in the area. The operation is aimed at locating and neutralizing the perpetrators of the heinous act, dismantling criminal networks and restoring security within the affected communities.  DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS REFUTES VIDEO ON COMPULSORY RECRUITMENT


The defence headquarters has refuted a circulationg video depicting a mischievously cloned image of the Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede 

on alleged intent of the military to forcefully recruit young Nigerians from the age of 18 years into the military against their will.


 A statement by the director defence information brigadier General Samaila Uba said, the military remained a noble profession with thousands of patriotic Nigerians ready to willingly join its ranks as attested during various recruitment exercises into the 3 arms of the Nigerian military.


Brigadier General Uba noted that, the purported statement was never made by the Chief of Defence Staff or any of  the Service Chiefs and should be discarded by members of the public as a calculated attempt to undermine the high level professionalism of the Nigerian Military
