 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  ED/CEO of NPHCDA Commissions 80 Revitalised PHCs In Kogi State


The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Muyi Aina, in collaboration with the Governor of Kogi State, has commissioned 80 revitalised Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities and handed over essential medical equipment and commodities to the Kogi State Government to enhance healthcare delivery.


The commissioning by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo took place at the Government House, Lokoja.


The revitalised facilities upgraded under the World Bank-supported IMPACT Project in partnership with the NPHCDA are aimed at expanding access to quality, affordable, and reliable primary healthcare services across the state.


Following the commissioning, Dr. Aina formally handed over a consignment of medical equipment and essential commodities to the state government for distribution to PHC facilities. 

This underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening state health systems and improving health outcomes for citizens.


The Executive Director, accompanied by Governor Ododo also commissioned and inspected the newly completed Model Primary Health Care Centre at Old Market Road, Lokoja, where he describes it as a standard for patient-centered, quality healthcare delivery. 

They  also visited the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, where Dr. Aina handed over Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (CEmONC) equipment for the delivery room, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and maternity side laboratory.


Dr. Aina commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Kogi State. He also praised the state’s health team for their dedication and professionalism. The Executive Director reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to continued partnership with the Kogi State Government, expressing confidence that the state’s sustained investment in primary healthcare will contribute significantly to improved health outcomes and national development.
