 First Lady Remi Tinubu Hails Nigeria Workers For Their Resilience And Dedication  Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu extends her warm greetings and deep appreciation to all workers in the country as they join their counterparts across the world to mark 2026 International Worker's Day. In a message celebrating their resilience, dedication and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the country, the First Lady says public servants, private sector professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs, and all those who labour tirelessly are indeed the backbone of progress in the nation. She commends the role of trade unions in advocating for the well-being of workers, and cooperation in strengthening the nation’s workforce.

ENUGU COMMISSIONER OF POLICE DECORATES SEVENTEEN NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS, CHARGES THEM TO UPHOLD PROFESSIONALISM


The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has decorated seventeen (17) newly promoted officers serving in the Command with their new ranks. The ceremony, held at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Agbani Road, Enugu, today, 5th November 2025, featured a charge to the officers to demonstrate greater professionalism, dedication, and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.


While expressing gratitude to God for the promotion and commending the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for recommending the officers for elevation, CP Giwa noted that the promotion is both a recognition of meritorious service and a call to higher performance. He urged the beneficiaries to continually improve themselves and uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, stating: “This promotion places on you additional responsibilities. Rise to the occasion and justify the confidence the Force has placed in you.”


Twelve (12) of the officers were promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five (5) advanced from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP). Those promoted to CSP include Arua Mba, the Command’s Staff Officer Senior; Odum Chukwuka of the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad; Nduka Ekeruo, Okwa John, Aja Vitalis, and Nwaneri Georginia, DPOs of Igbo-Eze South, Ogui, Amechi-Idodo, and Abakaliki Road Divisions respectively; Achuam Kelvin of the State CID Anti-Cultism Section; Justice Attah, Head of the Command’s Legal Section; Omeje Innocent, Command Traffic Officer; Prince Chimezie Peters, CPS Traffic Section; Ejiofor Charles, DCO Abakpa Division; and Ntum Onyekachi, Administrative Officer, No. 76 PMF Nsukka. The newly promoted SPs are Owoicho John, Salihu Umoru, Onwuchuruba Joy Chibuzo, Nwakaeze Ann, and Obochi Godwin.


Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Arua Mba appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission, and the Commissioner of Police for their continuous support and leadership. He pledged that they would remain loyal, dedicated, and committed to serving the Command and the nation with renewed diligence and professionalism.


The ceremony was witnessed by members of the Command’s Management Team, senior officers, as well as families, colleagues, and well-wishers of the promoted officers.
