Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011. Previous attempts to move the case forward were blocked because the claims were made years after the alleged incidents, with courts initially ruling that the delayed discovery doctrine did not apply.  ETHIOPIA BEATS NIGERIA TO HOST COP-32  IN 2027


Ethiopia has been selected to host the 32nd United Nations Climate Change Conference COP32 in 2027, beating Nigeria in a closely contested bid.


Chair of the African Group of Negotiators Richard Muyingi who made  the confirmation  revealed that the decision followed a meeting where Ethiopia’s resubmitted expression of interest was endorsed.


The hosting of COP conferences rotates among global regions, with Africa due to take its turn in 2027.


Meanwhile, the host country for COP31 is yet to be decided, with Turkey and Australia currently under consideration.


Nigeria had earlier expressed interest in hosting COP32 in March, following a visit by Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).


During the second Africa Climate Summit in Ethiopia, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced his nation’s readiness to host the event, emphasizing that Ethiopia possesses the capacity, facilities, location, and connectivity to stage the major climate summit.


So far, Africa has hosted several COPs in the past including Morocco in 2001 and 2016, Egypt in 2022  and South Africa in 2011 but none in West Africa.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
